EXHIBITING FINE WORKS FROM LEADING ARTISTS FROM UTOPIA
Utopia artists are well known for their use of bright, colourful acrylic paints. Artists such as Emily Kngwarreye, Minnie Pwerle and Gloria Petyarre paved the way in the use of this medium. They were also artists at the forefront in their ability to paint abstract contemporary depictions of their Dreamings. Today the leading artists from Utopia stand apart due to the unique expression of their Dreamings and their great influence on younger artists. One only needs to look at Gloria Petyarre's award winning 'Bush Medicine' style to see how strongly she has influenced other Utopia artists.
In this exhibition we present a beautiful array of artworks from the most important artists existing in Utopia today. Viewers will be delighted by the diverse styles of Gloria Petyarre, the highly skilled, fine brush stroked works of Barbara Weir, the exciting vibrant paintings by the Pwerle sisters, plus many other works by artists such as Anna Petyarre, Kathleen Petyarre & Angelina Pwerle.
