Molly Pwerle
Molly Pwerle’s country is Atnwengerrp and her language is Anmatyerre and Alyawarre. She is the older sister to Emliy and Galya Pwerle. Like her sisters, Molly paints “Awelye Atnwengerrp”, meaning women’s ceremony in her country. Like her sisters, Molly paints “Awelye Atnwengerrp” which is depicted by bold & colourful lines painted in different widths & patterns, either straight or intertwined to create a complex mass of contrasting colour. The patterns represent the designs painted on women's bodies during ceremonies in Atnwengerrp in which they pay homage to Bush Tucker.
