Freddy Purla is a male artist from Utopia. Son of the famous artist Barbara Weir & grandson of Minnie Pwerle. Freddy began painting in the late 80s and embraces a contemporary expression to his Dreaming & Country.
‘This painting represents a juxtaposition of my traditional home land and my city life. I have created a landscape that represents both my worlds using traditional dots and symbols. My playground is the desert and surrounding me are the sharp square shapes of the city I regularly visit.’
