Lindsay is recognised in his community as an important Aboriginal leader and also as one of the leaders in the Art movement from Utopia. He was one of the few men to work in the medium of batik when it was introduced in the 70s.
As a senior Law man, Lindsay can depict many themes of men's law in his paintings. This bush tucker painting depicts the growth of the Mulga berry where it grows in abundance. The design is used in ritual ceremonies to represent the Mulga berry. As custodian of the land, Lindsay has full respect for its food source which is vital to the continual practice of aboriginal law and tradition in the community.
